Potential restoration projects are identified by assessments and field work, often in collaboration with our partners. The Orleans County NRCD's Riparian Lands Progam Manager can work to develop, design and implement riparian restoration projects, including applying for funding such as via the Trees for Streams program.

Our staff will manage riparian restoration projects with interested landowners and other stakeholders.

Typical projects include: tree and shrub plantings to establish vegetated buffers, streambank stabilizations, culvert replacements, floodplain connectivity, and livestock exclusion.
